Vtdigger.org Review

Vtdigger.org is a fantastic site that seems to be really well developed and also very politically neutral in its views. From reading some of the stories on the site I noticed that a lot of quotes are continuously used, which is a very nice touch because it gives the real facts and there can't be any bias. The one story that I looked at in particular was titled "Vermont GOP: Taxes, regulations hurt Vermont businesses, economy. " This entire article could have been made with liberal views prevailing throughout, but it seemed to give the straight facts. This is something that seems to be rare in the media today. Wherever you turn you seem to get opinions thrown at you. This can make true journalism hard to come by, but this website seems to be changing that. This site is really quite intriguing and I think that it would be nice to do a multimedia project on it.
The way that Ms. Galloway is going about funding this site is interesting and could actually work quite well. I don't know if this will generate enough money as paid advertising would, but it makes the website have a home town feeling and makes the page much less cramped. I also think that when the website gets a strong following the money will come in at a much faster rate, allowing the site to survive and prosper. I really like the way this is being done.
Overall I thought the site was fantastic. The look and the entire feel was very "Vermont," and it seemed to keep that small town quality to it, which I liked strongly. In the future I will definitely check this website out for my Vermont news needs because it seems to give fair and honest reporting, which is a rarity nowadays.
